Gilley 9s in Dallas opened in 2003 with 26,000 square feet of main show room and the original bull, El Toro, featured in "The Urban Cowboy".

6,000-person capacity It had a shooting gallery, showers for truckers, a rodeo arena with mechanical bulls, pool tables, punching bags, and a dance floor big enough for thousands. It had a 6,000-person capacity and was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world 9s largest honky-tonk.

Though the club is no longer in operation there are three other Gilley 9s, in Las Vegas Nevada, Dallas Texas and Durant Oklahoma. The club was a phenomenon back in the day and spawned a movie called the Urban Cowboy featuring John Travolta and Debra Winger.

Among them, the original Gilley 9s in Pasadena, Texas. The famed dancehall once held the Guinness World Record for the world 9s largest honky-tonk at a staggering 70,000 square feet.

Gilley 9s Complex, known as Gilley 9s Dallas, is a multi-purpose entertainment and dining complex located in Dallas, Texas. The complex offers nine venues with capacities ranging from 350 to 4,000.

Mickey Gilley Mickey Gilley opened Gilley 9s Dallas in 2003 to serve patrons in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The honky tonk, with more than 90,000-square feet of event space, included a large dance floor and the famous mechanical bull.

When the "Urban Cowboy" trend faded, so did Gilley 9s stardom. The nightclub closed in 1989 amid a dispute between Gilley and his partner. A year later, it was destroyed in an arson fire.

Gilley continued operating the 70,000-square-foot club until the judge ordered Gilley 9s to close down in 1989 due to loss of profits. Sadly, on, an Arson fire attack destroyed the main building. The fire fiercely burned in the all-wood structure, reaching the rodeo arena and recording studio.

Pasadena, Texas The original Gilley 9s Saloon opened in Pasadena, Texas in 1971. At the time, it was the world 9s largest indoor bar and home to many popular country artists of the day including its owner, the legendary country crooner Mickey Gilley who achieved 39 top-ten hits during his career.
